Exporting the tenant content

You can export the tenant content from the source environment to a deployment archive.

About this task

When exporting tenant content, only public content and objects belonging to the selected tenants are exported. Therefore, the task of assigning tenancy to objects in the content store must be completed before the export is started.

There is no option to include or exclude certain public content when exporting a tenant. Later, you import the archive into the target environment.

Procedure

  1. Start IBM Cognos Administration.
  2. On the Configuration tab, click Content Administration.
  3. On the toolbar, click the New export button. The New Export wizard opens.
  4. Click Select tenants, and then click Next.

    The Select tenants option is available only to system administrators.

  5. From the available tenants box, select the tenants that you want to export to the content store, and click Next.
  6. Follow the procedure documented in the section Create a New Export Deployment Specification, starting with step 17.
